New Kid on the Block
For the first time in years, I am the new kid. I am living in a new city, enrolled in a new school and swimming in a sea of new faces. Cemented friendships, limited parking and my wise decision to live in a dorm (which is another story in itself) all came flying at me at shocking speeds. To say that I am ‘out of my element’ is an understatement.
The Black Agenda
Tim Tebow made a promise to the Gator Nation, and he delivered.
Well there’s a new promise in town; a promise for Black students to do better.
Black students have the lowest GPAs on the University of Florida campus, particularly Black males. When IBC Director Anthony Crenshaw brought this issue to a presidential roundtable, meeting attendees questioned how this could be. Instead of sitting back to let the cycle of mediocrity continue they took a stand. The discussion of this major problem served as a catalyst to get the Black Agenda up and running.
